Thinking out of the Box

When times are difficult it is so easy to fall into the mindset of self-doubt and feeling that the problem is not going to go away and things are going to get worse, before getting any better, if at all.

This is not going to help you. In fact it’s going to keep you stuck longer. It’s time to change this and get solution orientated.

You have to free yourself from this hold and change your mindset. It really is down to you.

You have to make the decision to coming out of this situation and making it work for you, instead of remaining a victim to it.

This calls for thinking out of the box and changing your focus to the solution.

Here are a few tips to help you do just this:

·       Get clear on what is the outcome you want in this situation. This will begin the focus and give you clarity.

·       Reverse engineer the situation which involves looking at the outcome you want and working backwards from this and setting actions that you need to undertake to reach this outcome. This technique weakens the problem and gives you the focus on the outcome you want, which puts you back in control.

·       Do you have to try something new to reach your desired outcome? Awesome, go for it. Don’t be afraid to change things up a little and try something new. A fresh approach is always good for motivation.

·       Don’t follow everyone who is stressed about the same situation and those that feel that there is no hope. Following others in their stress is not healthy. You have to be the creator that changes things for you and keeps you positive and focused on getting out of the situation instead of remaining stuck.

It’s time to make thinking out of the box your norm. You can take yourself out of any situation but you have to this regularly to build this muscle.
